Town of Davidson Housing Developments

 

Through the Town of Davidson's Affordable Housing Ordinance, requiring 12.5% of new residential developments to be designated as affordable housing, more than 200 affordable units will be coming online in the Town over the next two years. Some developments, like Summers Walk, Harbour Place, South Main, and Walnut Grove, are currently under construction, with affordable units available soon. Following inclusionary zoning principles, developers must seamlessly integrate their affordable housing component into the surrounding community. Sales prices for all units are non-negotiable and established by the Town and the developer. Developments under construction

 

summers walk, located out Hwy 73 near Poplar Tent

Summers Walk will consist of a total of 552 single-family homes, 69 of which will be affordable units. Phase I of the affordable housing construction will feature 30 single-family homes by developer JCB Urban, three of which are scheduled for closing and three of which are under construction. Additional affordable units will be built in phases 3, 4, and the front parcel of the development.

harbour place, located at Exit 30

Harbour Place of Davidson is a mixed-use development located near I-77 that features office and retail buildings, and a Hilton Homewood Suites in addition to its townhomes and brownstones. The affordable housing component of Harbour Place will feature four two-bedroom, two-bath brownstones by developer Childress Klein.

walnut grove, located east of South Main Street

Walnut Grove, located east of South Main Street behind the Wooden Stone, will consist of 20 residential untis, three of which will be designated as affordable units. These units will be town homes by developer JD North Construction, two of which will have three bedrooms, with the size of the third to be determined.

 

SOUTH MAIN SQUARE, located on the west side of South Main Street

directly off of Main Street.   The 26 residential units are two blocks from downtown Davidson, behind Restaurant X and Fuel Pizza.  The town homes were built by Martin Grimes Development.
