ELIGIBLE REPAIRS:
Accessibility: repair or replacement of unsafe steps and access porches; installation or repair of handrails and grab bars; wheelchair ramps Carpentry: protect the inside walls and ceilings from wire exposure; protect oustide walls from elements Electricity: repair or replace mounted light fixtures, outlets, breakers or fuse boxes Furnace/Air Conditioning: repair or replace heating or AC units Plumbing: repair or replace water lines and drain pipes to sinks and toilets; repair or repalce leaking, cracked or unstable toilets, showers, and bath tubs Roofs: repair leaks; re-flash chimneys; re-roof |
Floor Before and After Repairs |
Ineligible repairs include: installing siding, storm windows or doors; installing or replacing gutters; installing insuliation or septic systems; painting or other cosmetic work; underpinning of mobile homes; yard work, general cleaning HAMMERS cannot exceed $5,000 in repair expenses on a home--if repairs are estimated to be more than $5,000, no work will be done for fear of placing the household in even greater jeopardy.
